Note: This procedure can be interrupted at any time in an emergency by switching off the ignition or pressing the accelerator pedal.
Caution: Tailpipe outlet exhaust temperature will be greater than 300°C (572°F) during service regeneration.
- Park the vehicle outdoors and keep people, other vehicles and combustible material away during service regeneration.
- Do not leave vehicle unattended.
- Do not connect any shop exhaust hoses to the vehicle's tailpipe.
Caution: Keep the hood open and the vehicle in an open environment away from walls or buildings during this procedure. This is imperative to keep proper air flow across the radiator.
- Check coolant level and oil level before and after the procedure.
- Engine and exhaust system damage can occur due to improper use of the service regeneration.
- Do not initiate the service regeneration if faults are present on the vehicle, which are not related to particulate filter faults.
